Active 4 Seasons

School Groups Adventure

Active 4 Seasons has been providing Adventure Activities to Schools for the last 4 years

We have worked under various Adventure Activity License Service license’ locally for the last 14 years. In May 2016 we got our second license (Registration number L12044/R2038) which is valid for three years, (the maximum length given) reflecting past experience providing adventure activities for Schools and Youth groups. We pride ourselves in providing maximum participation in the activities we offer and understand the pressure schools are under both time wise and with regards outcome led provision. We have designed and run a wide variety of programmes for a range of school ages but because we use the ‘real’ outdoors we tend to work with year 5 (10/11 year olds) and above.

Adventure Activities available:

Open Canoeing

open canoeing

A school group learning to balance in canoes

Rock Climbing

rock climbing

A school group climbing

Off Road Cycling (Bikes hire from a third party).

Safety is a priority

An extract from a ROSPA:

“The Activity Centres (Young Persons Safety) Act 1995 and the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations 1996 have set up a licensing scheme for adventure activity providers in England, Scotland and Wales. Those who provide specified adventure activities, (caving, climbing, trekking, water sports), in return for payment, to young people under 18 years of age must be registered, hold a valid licence and abide by the conditions. Since October 1, 1997, providers must hold a licence before they can operate. Before a licence is granted, the centre will be inspected. All licences, which can be valid for up to three years, have safety conditions attached.”

The maximum number of students we can currently cater for is three groups of ideally 12 but if they have had some previous experience of the activities then we can consider slightly larger groups. We specialise in providing high quality adventure activity sessions that suit the needs of the group after discussion regarding the aims and objectives of the school and group.

Although we don’t have our own accommodation there are a few places locally we can recommend depending on age, group size etc. Wooler Youth Hostel, Berwick Youth Hostel, Pot a Doodle do, Chatton Bunkhouse, Mount Hooly bunkhouse to name a few. Please contact us for further details.

Please contact us to discuss your aims and objectives.

Testimonial:

Hi, Ollie

MANY thanks for such a brilliant activity session.  As a retired

primary teacher I really appreciated the time you took to explain to

the girls about paddling etc. before they started. Some of the smaller /

younger ones found it quite hard work,  but the older ones really

enjoyed the session and the challenge of the faster water etc.

They all slept extremely well!  Much appreciated!!!
