Sea Kayaking Expedition to Mull 15th -18th Aug

A third trip to the West coast is now in the calendar. Designed for people with at least a weeks sea kayak experience we will camp out and spend three days paddling the South coast of the Ross of Mull. Please see further details here

The SK Gang monthly meet

The next gathering is the 10th May and is fully booked. The 7th June is the next option, book early to avoid dissapointment!!

Our trip on Sun 27th April 08 was a complete circumnavigation of the Farne Islands including all outlying rocks! This is vary rare as normally the conditions would not allow this. We were also lucky to see porpoise on our trip - another first for some of the group. heading back to the beach in the mist was again a new experience for some.

April 12th was a chance to improve skills in chunky water. The crowd pushed themselves as always and all came away with more confidence in bigger conditions. One even completed a wet exit near the rocks to demonstrate how good her new paddle clothing was coping with the conditions.

In March we had a windy visit to the fantastic St. Abbs head. The morning proved very windy but we managed some skills work in the rocks and looking at coping in strong winds then the afternoon was spend discovering the exposed St. Abbs head up past Pettico Wick, another great day was had.

In Feb we made it out to the Farnes with a scetchy forecast but all came home having had an exciting and challenging time and the weather turned perfect in the end.

Check out the calendar for upcoming dates. These trips are for past clients who have made it to the improvers clan and for newcomers with at least a weeks sea kayaking or river paddling experience, Thanks.

Hassle free outdoor adventure for all the family...

Hassle free outdoor adventure for all the family...

...a quiet relaxing day on the beautiful river Tweed. North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders are the perfect locations to get out to see the wonderful environment we live in.

There are many misconceptions about outdoor adventure. Whilst introducing activities at a low level the risks are minimal and the general area is ideal to experience outdoor activities for the first time. It is also a great area to discover wilderness (it is not called ‘The Secret Kingdom’ for nothing) for those who are more experienced, there are loads of wonderfully quiet areas to be discovered. We have a fantastic coastline of International importance with thousands of sea birds and grey seals, occasional visitors include Basking shark, Minki whales, Dolphins and Porpoise.

A question often asked is:
"Is it safe?" Answer: Far safer than driving on a dual carridgeway, and some people do that everyday without a blink of an eye!

Develop your skills

People learn in different ways and we cater for this by running bespoke courses that are tailored to the needs of the learner. Courses do not necessary stick to a pre-determined syllabus and this allows us to maximise the learning process. To be able to do this we keep ratios low.

Active4seasons have plenty of experience and knowledge of the local area and will therefore be able to provide you with a safe and suitable route/ location for you, whatever your level of experience.

When looking for coaching or hiring a guide it is essential that their level of qualifications and their experience is verified. It is also vital to check that they have a current public liability insurance certificate (normally up to £5 million).

You can rest assured that Active4seasons takes its responsibility for Health and Safety very seriously.
