Boats
Sea kayaks:
Prijon Seayak (rm), yellow. £465 ono.
This kayak is made of very tough plastic, good condition for its age (6-7ys?). Can be fitted with a rudder for an extra £120 if buyer would like one. Can be paddled without in up to force 4 winds. This kayak suits a medium to large paddler who is looking for a weekend / week long expedition kayak or for the slightly heavier paddler looking for a fast travelling kayak, a very comfortable kayak - I paddled one for 9.5 hours to the Isles of Scilly in April this year.
Prijon Odyssee (rm), double sea kayak. £560 ono.
This is a great kayak for someone to introduce a partner or child to kayaking in. It is at its best on the estuary or sheltered water - not a big sea kayak! It has bulkheads and the two cockpits are joined so can take on quite a bit of water if it ends up the wrong way up. The neoprene under hatch covers could do with renewing if it was to be fully waterproof in bigger seas but fine if used on estuary. Bombproof plastic as with all Prijon boats. This boat comes with a rudder fitted - not shown in pics but in back hatch. Can be tried out most weekends by arrangement.
River kayaks:
Prijon Invader river kayak, red £150 ono.
This is an old style kayak but is suitable for an adult wanting to get into gentle river trips i.e. the Tweed. Because it is a bit longer it tracks well. Very good plastic and ideal to get you going on the cheap.
Open Canoes:
Old Town 147, £370 ono.
Well used and could do with a pair of bang plates fitting as the bow and stern are showing some wear but not through the outer shell yet! One of the deck plates has a small crack from a collision but only cosmetic. There are some lashings at the bow and stern that can be used for air bags or blocks but could easily be removed if not needed.
Pyranha Ranger, £310 ono.
A bit older and thus a bit cheaper but has two slight deformations on the hull that do not effect tracking but there all the same. In the picture blocks are shown but not included in the sale as I will be transferring them to another canoe.
Both are ideal for gentle trips on the River tweed.
All boats can be tried and I would always recommend this before any purchase especially if you do not have much experience because they all handle differently.
